Godwin Kou is a well-known Atlanta based Chinese artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia. In his earlier years, Godwin trained under Professor Wu, a renowned artist in south China, and diligently studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy.
In 1986, Godwin moved to the United States. He became one of the members of Community Committee of the Atlanta High Museum of Art for two years as well as one of the founders of Chinese-American Art Association of Atlanta.
In recent years, Godwin has been invited by several universities, companies, and other various organizations to teach and give demonstrations on both painting and calligraphy. Included in the list are: Emory University, Georgia Power, the Atlanta Chinese Culture Center and the Atlanta Chinese Lion Club.
Godwin Kou also participates in various arts shows. He paints Chinese brush painting (Chinese watercolor) and calligraphy, and his artworks are a favorite among crowds.
Accomplishment/Awards
1985
Artworks first shown in exhibition held by the Macao Museum.
1989
Art was selected as part of an exhibition entitled "Today's Famous Chinese Artists" to represent Taiwan on a tour throughout the United States, Canada, and South Africa.
2004
Artworks were exhibited in the Taichong Culture and Art Center in Taiwan.
2005 & 2006
International Association of Chinese Art and Culture in China selected him as "The Outstanding Chinese Artist".
2007
International Association of Chinese Art and Chinese Art Society in China selected his inscription and calligraphy for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

Kuansoi "Christine" Kou

A traditional Chinese brush painting artist, Kuansoi "Christine" Kou was born in China. She began her study of the Chinese brush painting and calligraphy when she was a child.
She came to United States in 1988 and settled down in Atlanta. Before that, she worked as a commercial artist in Macao. In 1985, her artworks were first showed in an exhibition held by the Museum of Luís de Camões in Macao.
Christine continually works as a full-time artist since she has lived in Atlanta. She has participated in various mainstream art shows during the years.
For more than thirty years in Chinese brush painting, what Christine has been pursuing, is an art of harmony, elegance, purity and freedom -- an art that can soothe people’s mind.

Her art was selected along with others as part of an exhibition titled, "Today's Famous Chinese Artists" to represent Taiwan on tour throughout the United States, Canada, and South Africa.
1998
Her artworks were selected by "The First Macao International Art Exhibition".
1999
Her artworks were selected by "The Exhibition of Observance for Discovery the Oracle of One Century" in Taiwan.
Gave a solo exhibition in the Carroll Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University.
2000
Held a solo exhibition at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.
2012
Presented the Godwin & Kuansoi Art Exhibition in The Brown Art Gallery, Mercer University.
Asked by the directors of the Hollywood movie, Prisoners (2013) to commission a painting for a Chinese restaurant scene in the movie.
